MAINTENANCE

Alright, I'll admit I'm obsessed with keeping my car clean. But not so much as to break
out the wash bucket every time I find dirt or other demonic substances on my car. For
that I rely on those "instant shine" sprays you see so much these days. The best product
out there without question is the Wax Shop's Slick Stuff.
Simply spray it on, wipe it off, then buff it dry to a shine with a clean soft terry
cloth towel. It lifts off dirt, crud, and grime without scratching. Plus it supposedly
puts a positive charge on the surface to repel dust (which also has a positive charge).
This is excellent for those minute buffing or some minor blemishes like bird droppings,
tar, etc. which would otherwise require a wash to clean.
Other products like Meguiar's Final Inspection, is the exact same thing as Slick Stuff.
Smells, looks, performs the exact same. The only thing different is the price. It's more
expensive! So stick with Slick Stuff for the better value.
Otherwise I'll be dusting my car with a car duster on a daily basis. Those things work
very well at picking up dust without scratching the surface. You don't want the dust
to settle too long because it will start caking on and hardening on the paint surface,
it's time to break out the wash bucket unless you want to use Slick Stuff.
For my chrome wheels I wipe off the brake dust and buff it to a shine with a soft towel.
Luckily with the new Repco MetalMaster brake pads, it produces less dust up front now.
But yeah, you don't want the brake dust hardening on your wheels either.
Doing these things mean less washes to maintain cleanliness and greater intervals
between washes.
