I was driving in my 1991 Acura Legend 4-door (Black of course), and was on highway 295 headed towards the southeast
southwest freeway going into Virginia with my girlfriend. I was jetting in and out through traffic when I noticed a
red BMW 325 and a Subaru SVX trying to get around me, but the traffic wouldn't allow them. Then it happened I got mad
and thought I would see what both of these f**ks could do. I was already doing 70-85 mph when I just floored it
neither one of those sorry bastards could get around me. To make long story short neither one had anything on me, as
I had both of them by a few car lengths (and the SVX beat the BMW).
Unfortunately my Legend met its match with a 1998 Mercury Thunderbird/Couger. It was on a Saturday evening and my
brother and I had just finished racing each other in our Legends (his is a Metallic Brown 1992 4-door L). Some how
his always beats mines with no modifications!? I seen this couger driving vigously down the rode after coming back
into Maryland from Virgina. It was a Thunderbird I floored to see if I could catch him but I couldn't. We came up
on a light then I asked him what in the hell he had under the hood? 8-cylinder he said, that's all cousins. I thought
for a second and all I have is six with 200 horses, and a damm good six at that. The light turned green and we were
off. Let me tell you, the Legend was in there, but the Cougar needed to get over into my lane (at 70 mph), and there
was a car in front of him. So I just let my foot off of the gas coming around a tricky corner and he was gone, running
red lights and all. He couldn't do an emergency stop if he wanted to.

It was a hot and balmy afternoon, and evil mother nature doused parts of the San Francisco bay area with heavy scattered
showers. I was driving down the fast lane of highway 280 at 70 mph, blasting the Spice Girls on the boom box and
pondering the mysteries of the universe (ie- do monkeys taste like chicken?). The roads were drenched with water, so
everyone was kicking up a cloud of mist, making for some very difficult visibility.
Then out of the blue there were a huge crowd of cars just up ahead, fully stopped. The truck in front of me saw it, and
slammed on his brakes. Unfortunately he didn't have ABS because he locked up and he went careening into the center
divider. Needless to say his truck was no more. In the corner of my eye I saw a few cars to my right rear ending or
spinning out of control into other cars in front of them.
I guess this is where having cross-drilled brake rotors were a tremendous advantage because I stomped on the brakes and
realiable ol' Vivian stopped on a dime. Then my jaw dropped in terror as my eyes peered up towards the rear view mirror,
wondering if the cars behind me would have the same stopping benefits.
I was answered with a Honda Civic that came barreling down the wet highway towards my coordinates. I could see him cringe
in terror as he realized I was at a full stop, and immediately slammed on his brakes. I knew he wasn't going to stop in
time from hitting me, and so did he. Luckily for me the guy was pretty nice and decided not to plow into Vivian. Instead,
he veered into the rail on the center divide.
My eyes were still gazing at the rear view mirror as I saw a Volvo ram the rail, then another Civic. Then a BMW rear
ended the Volvo, a Buick hit an Accord ... well, you get the picture. It was sheer horror as car parts were flying all
other the place with one accident after another! Thanks to me lucky charms, I survived this chaotic ordeal ... unscathed.
The lane I was in was still moving, so we slowly inched past more wrecked cars that had plowed into each other from a
previous wave of accidents. On the opposite side of the freeway, the same dreaded fate had befallen other motorists, who
now created a parking lot of wrecked cars.
I saw a policeman reporting on the numerous accidents, and grimly told him of the 8 or so accidents that just happened
behind me. He sighed and thanked me for the information.
Is it a bad omen when you see more accidents than you need to in such a short amount of time? Just the other week I was
kind of racing with this tricked up red Honda Civic on the freeway. It looked like we were both taking the same exit, so
I let him take the lead on the exit ramp which had a wicked 45 degree turn. I guess he wanted to show me what his little
Civic was made of, so he accelerated ferociously into the curve, (with me not far behind).
But even with his performance suspension setup and 17" wheels, he lost control and smacked nose first into the rail. Then
he proceeded to spin uncontrollably for about three 360 twirls. He finally stopped in the middle of the road, his bumper
gone, his wheels bent inward, and car parts all over the place.
After the initial shock wore off from what just conspired, I realized I was behind him, still rushing forward, and
closing fast! Once again, my brakes saved the day as I managed to do a very hard brake, veering out of harm's way to
avert this near disaster.

This happen in on March 27, 1998 (school spring break)
It was a Friday and the last day before spring break. My brother and I were packed and ready to drive to Rockton, Illinois to visit
our cousins. We were scheduled to meet with him at Ho Chunk Casino and play a little bit. From there, he could take me to his house.
We met around 7 PM and played until 11:30 PM. His two other friends didn't arrive until around 9 PM. After some play time, we decided
it was getting late and had to go.
To my surprise, as I walked out to the parking lot, his friend too, had a 88 legend but an L model. There was really nothing on it
but fog lights. We pulled out of the casino and stopped at "Naughty But Nice", a place that had everything on adult things. After
that we were off. The highway was pretty pitch dark. The sky was cloudy, so there were no stars and moon to provide any lighting on
the road.
Fifteen minutes into the ride, my friend with a heavily modified 94 Accord decided to punch the gas. Couple seconds later I realized
that we were up at 101 mph already, side by side. I knew I couldn't pass the 122 mph mark because of my sorry tires. They couldn't
handle anything pass 122 mph. So I rolled down the window and yelled not to pass 115 mph (just to be safe). So they both agreed.
Thirty minutes into the ride, not once did we slow down. I thought to myself 'Why the hell isn't he slowing down or something? There
are state patrols out there!' I was a little concerned we could get caught. Still, we rode on. It was unbelievable!
Forty-five minutes into the ride, not once did we slow down. It was such a rush! My car was bouncy so much as if I had some Neuspeed
springs. And the accord was like it had hydraulics on it. Finally we slowed down (whew) and 15 minutes later we were back on track.
This time it wasn't good. About 1 exit ahead, was a Ford Taurus on the fast lane. We caught up in seconds. My cousin quickly changed
lanes and I quickly persued his path. Just as I passed the lady I knew it right there that it was over for the fellow Legend behind
us. She swerved into our lane instantly trying to avoid the other Legend coming in her lane, but instead she hit his Legend and BAM!!!!
It was over.
It just all happen too fast! His car decked her rear quarter and panel and spun out. Sparks lit the road. The Ford spunn vigorously
and hit the siderail and the Legend was flipped high up in the rails almost flipping. As the rails ended, his car dropped and bounced
3 times and ended up the ditch. As for the lady, she was stuck back there with her end still up.
It was like a bad dream. I thought they were dead. To my surprise, they walked out of the car with just cuts and bruises on them. I
laughed. I don't know why, but I laughed. I think it's because I was so scared and didn't know what to do. All he said when he got out
was "Seatbelts, Oh sh*t, seatbelts." As we all slowly got back to normality, I realized that the lady was still back there. There was
a noise coming from her car. It sounded pretty violent. I thought it was the engine but it was the rims still spinning maraculously.
As I approach the car. I suddenly realized that if the car suddenly drops, the it would take off at me or somewhere that could kill
me or the rest.
I hesisitated but I had to find out if how the lady was doing. As I got closer. My heart just sank to the bottom of my feet. I saw a
puddle of red fluid slowly moving my way. As I look closely, to my relief, it was coolant. Just coolant. I thought only Japanese cars
have brown/redish coolant. I quickly open up the door and turned off the engine. The lady had a broken jaw and no seatbelts on. She
was just laying there still and suddenly started to moan in pain.
As the police arrived, everything was handed to the cops. There is more, but its too long. A lesson I learned! Slow down whenever
there is a car ahead of you no matter what. A split second, could make your day. I just wish, we hadn't stopped at the 'Naugty But
Nice'!

It was a nice saturday afternoon. The sky was clear without a cloud in sight. There were many cars out on the street to enjoy
the beautiful day. I was coming back from a video store with a friend, and I came to a red light. As I was talking to my friend
about what great weather we were having, a late model BMW 328is pulled up next to my left. The driver was in his late 20's.
My friend said, "Now, that is a nice car!". As soon as he finished that sentence, a Honda Prelude pulled up next to my right.
It was not a VTEC model, but the driver must have done some SERIOUS modifications. The car was lowered, and had a loud exhaust
tone. I normally don't do street race because I think it is very reckless, but I was not going to have my friend think that a
BMW328is is a better car than my 1994 Pearl Red Acura Legend coupe.
As the light changed to green, the Prelude was making a incredibly loud noise as he was accelerating. Then I saw the BMW
spinning his wheels as he was tring to out run the Prelude. I said to myself, "F' it, I'm going for it!" I pushed the
accelerator all the way down to the floor.
Since the Prelude and BMW had a head start, I thought I might not be able to catch up with them. But, my faithful Legend did
not let me down. As my RPM was hitting about 6,000 on the first gear, the Prelude was nowhere to be found. The BMW was ahead
of me about a car length.
Then it happened. I felt my automatic transmission shifting up from the first to second gear, and my legend passed by BMW by
the time I was doing doing about 65 mph. It was a 35 mph zone, so I slowed down. I guess the BMW did not realize that he lost,
because he was still going fast even after I slowed down. As he was passing by, I looked at him with a big smile. I said to
myself, "Damn right, my legend IS a nicer car.
