On July 3rd, the night came to an end after a long night of clubbing. After getting a quick bite to eat at a local
24hr restaurant, we all headed home. I was heading North after leaving the restaurant, everyone was honking their
horns, flashing their high beams, and yelling their goodbyes. This was at 5am so no one else was on the road. I then
hit the H-1 freeway heading east with my good friend in front of me. I flashed my highs and waved bye to him. We
headed to the on-ramp and hit the freeway. The H-1 freeway near the Punahou exit has 3 lanes plus 1 which is an
on-ramp which connects to the Punahou offramp(so total 4 lanes).
My friend cut over into the middle lane with me following about 2 car lengths behind, and I continued to cut over
into the fast lane(far left). As I was cutting over into the fast lane, my friend jammed on his brakes as a joke,
going from 55 mph down to at least 40 mph in a matter of seconds. I had to react quickly to avoid hitting him ...
but I was headed into the far left cement freeway divider as my wheel was turned since I was in the process of
changing lanes. To avoid hitting the barrier, I then swerved right. I then lost control of the vehicle and it spun
out two times while moving across the freeway towards the onramp. I finally hit the far right cement barrier facing
on-coming traffic. So I went from the far left to the far right of the freeway.
I was in a state of awe and tried to step on the gas. It wouldn't go. I thought I was gonna cry. But I then put the
car in park, started the engine, and I was fine. I looked around for my friend who caused this, and he was no where
to be seen. I was so upset and calling the cops was the last thing on my mind. I attempted to find my friend on his
way home but he was no where to be found so I called his cellular. He said he didn't even know what he did. I didn't
believe one minute of it because how could he not see my super white headlights spinning out? And how could he not
notice that I wasn't behind him anymore becuase we were headed in the same direction? I then headed to my
destination.
When I got there, my other friends coming home gathered and asked what was wrong because I wasn't in the best of
moods. Surprisingly, there was barely any visual damage on my vehicle!! It just looked like a few scratches on the
rear bumper, scratches in my two drivers side rims, and that's about it. After taking the car to the body shop, they
just needed to replace the rear bumper, give me two new 5-spoke rims, two new tires, fix part of the rear-side panel
on the drivers side, and re-align the car.
After a huge accident like that, I was so shocked there was so little damage and made me realize how solidly built
my vehicle is. I bet that if it was any other vehicle, the damage would be much more extensive. As for my friend,
all he had to pay was my insurance deductible and he's off the hook as my insurance goes sky high (within one year,
my 98 Accord V6 EX coupe got broken into and stolen, an old man making a left turn smashed into my legend front
(another story), a young girl making a left turn smashed into my Accord). What bad luck huh? Well that's my story
and it is definite proof that the Legend is a solid work of art.

Cruised to see the sunset from Stanford over the hills via La Honda Road. I love that road! Nice winding up and
down the hills, with a pretty enthusiastic speed limit (90% of people go way slower than the limit on that road).
Coming back I was following a pimped out '87 Mercedes Benz 190-16 Valve (for those who don't, know this was the
first AMG MBZ. Back then it wasn't even called AMG) who was just carving the turns. I felt my tires beginning to
slide once or twice and he was slightly swinging his rear end a few times as well. So we catch up to this group
of a Saab, VW, and a Civic SI. The last car is a Taurus who are also going at a pretty good clip through the turns.
The stupid thing is that the Taurus a sliding everywhere. MBZ guy is smart so he keeps himself and me back about
100 ft at least behind the Taurus. The Taurus keeps braking too much before turns and getting behind the VW, so
the guy has to really get on it at the exits (aka- puff of gray smoke and bad smell at each corner exit) to gain
distance. But the problem is that the auto changes gears and his front starts sliding, so he counter steers way too
much and goes into the oversteer which actually looks pretty scary considering that it's straight down on one side
of the road and traffic on the other side and he can't control the vehicle all that well. His rear wheel slips of
the pavement twice, but luckily it's straight away both times so no problems... I knew that this was not going to
end well. About half mile down, his tire slips off into the gravel again, but this time there is sharp turn to the
left. And the moment he turns the wheel, his rear end slides to the outside and he scrapes the rear quarter panel
against the guard-barrier. Sparks flying in the night! The MBZ guy and I have no choice but to brake. The Taurus
continues to drive and pulls off and nearest safe point to access the damage! Good think we kept enough distance.
Drive safely!

On Saturday night I was on the freeway driving my 6-Speed when traffic came to a quick stop. Of course
being a Legend I was able to stop in time, but the Chevy Blaizer behind me, being a big heavy over bearing
vehicle with weak brakes slams into me, pushing me into the, guess what, Jeep Cherokee stopped in front of
me. Needless to say I was the meat in an SUV sandwich! :( The bad news: I need a new rear bumper cover,
repaint the trunk lid, a hole new front bumper cover, new hood, the front end and radiator needs to be
pulled out, the lights needs to be pulled out and back up, and whatever other hidden damage they may find.
My body shop says the damage appears to not have gone to far in, and that it looks like I have no frame
damage, but they will confirm when they get into it. On a good note, I was planning on repainting my hood
anyway, and also I had plans to buy a new 94-95 style bumper cover. Now I will get is all for free :)
Ironically, I just picked up my 95 Coupe from the same body shop where I had my rear bumper cover re-painted
due to another rear end incident. I was just discussing with them my plans to return to their shop soon to
have them work on my 93, ah well, thats life I guess.

Well, my story isn't as long or as interesting as others here, but it was a fun experience for me. To
give you the background, my friend inherited a '62 Buick Skylark convertible that he brags about all the
time. He just goes on and on about the power, handling, etc until you're more than sick of hearing about
it. Even in my yearbook, he wrote "I still say the Buick can take the Legend." I doubted it from the
start, even though he had the advantage of a 218V8. Even my dad, who is a full-time cop and who gets to
drive the high-powered cop cars says that a cop would have a hard time chasing a suspect who drove an
Acura Legend. :-)
Between high-speed cornering and lightning fast acceleration, that car is a riot to drive. I love
surprising people when I waste them. Well, anyways this one day I just happened to pull up next to my
friend at a stoplight. As usual, he started showing off, revving his engine and all. Little did he know.
Well, the green light came and needless to say I left him in my dust. He didn't stand a chance. Pedal to
the metal and buried in my seat, I knew I was victorious. Before I realized it I was doing 65 in a 40 and
had to back off. You see, I'm only 16 and a ticket would ruin me. Besides, I was driving my mom's Acura!
My friend didn't believe what had just happened, but I had proven my point. He will never mess with the
Legend again :-). He asked me afterward if our 3.2 V6 was turbocharged! Nope, I told him, but I was
imagining what a few mods would do! Just don't tell my mom about this story (or my dad for that matter)
!! I'd be banned from the Legend forever!!!
